This was a wonderful place to eat! We had a party of 10 in the service was phenomenal! The food was extremely good! Shepherd’s pie is very unique. It has a delicious beef base what vegetables in a wonderful sauce. And there are two large Scoops homemade mashed potatoes. The beef tips and noodles were also delicious! The sauces very tasty with plenty of mushrooms. Others in our group had the hamburgers which were amazing. Thick and grilled very well! The portions were very generous. It is a great tribute to the capital of pennsylvania! The only problem is that they did not get to try the chicken croquettes! They looked delicious

Stopped in there with my family, they are very friendly! The waitress was very nice! Brought out water right away. The food was great and came quickly! Portions are enough to make 2 meals out of! The bathrooms are clean and well stocked. The whole place was nice and welcoming. A very nice place for families to enjoy a good meal together.

The food came out quickly and our dishes were mostly good, but the tater tots were a bit greasy and possibly fried for too long. The waffles and ice cream got two thumbs up though! Plenty of options on the menu so you’ll likely find something for everyone here.

This is one of the BEST diners in the area. My family frequents this restaurant often and we’ve always had great food and service. Definitely my 82 year old mother’s “go to” place to enjoy a great meal.

Delicious food! The plates are good portions and taste very good. The service was excellent, specially our waitress Lora. Even she was super busy and rush, always have a smile and take good care of our orders. Definitely coming back on next vacations!

Food is amazing and inexpensive. 10/10 recommend the capitol diner breakfast combo. I love their French toast. Our waitress Victoria was an absolute gem— Super sweet, attentive, & pretty. She even had flowers on her apron. I’m a waitress too and I always appreciate a great job done. I’ve already been here multiple times and I will be back again!

Very busy place, but very short wait. Food was really good and staff was really friendly. We sat at the counter today and the lady working this morning was very friendly and very attentive to all of her customers. In addition, the other staff who was coming over to get thing from behind the counter was also very pleasant. Definitely a place we would visit again, great food, great staff, and great prices!

Very much enjoyed our meal at the Capitol Diner! And our server Katya, was great, thank you!! I love a traditional diner, the decor, the shiny surfaces and the gigantic menus. Everything that we ordered was very good to excellent. Pancakes were big and fluffy, the hash browns were well cooked. The country fried steak was really terrific and the gravy was very flavorful! I loved it.

First and Foremost, the exit and easy on/off ramp was what drew us to the Diner. It was not the food, but it is now!! Loved the French Onion Soup here, I think I detected some tiny mushrooms even in it, it was really great. I went with a Greek salad and a Gyro (chicken) and it was so big! I had way more food than I could eat but I still got apple caramel pie to go! I would get every item I had again! Sauces were great, food was hot, bathrooms were clean! Will make sure to stop here again.

We met family here as it was convenient for them on their way from Lancaster to Harrisburg. We enjoyed wonderful service and a great atmosphere. Our youngest love the kids French toast as the kitchen staff gave her strawberry, banana and whipped cream – just the way she likes it. The adults tried various omelettes and they were all good with generous portions. One of us had the baked oatmeal and it was delicious as well. I don’t think you can go wrong at the Capitol diner for a hearty breakfast. Thanks!
